There are so many wonderful gifts available at the moment in the SL House & Garden Group. I am so thrilled that the group has over 100 members now with some of the most talented creators & bloggers on the grid. If you would like any of these gifts just make sure to join the SL House & Garden Group inworld.

These photos were taken at the SL House & Garden Centre. This is a special location for group members and other guests as a place to come and relax, blog, build sets and to generally be a helpful tool for bloggers.

There is a warm and inviting cafe where you are welcome to socialise with other enthusiasts or simply enjoy some 'down time'. A resource room which is the perfect spot to sit down and relax while you blog.  There is also ample space for you to build your sets either for your blogs or if you are constructing but run out of room.

You will need to wear your group tag to build, other than that, the land is open to everyone. So if you want to build you are going to have to join the group sorry LOL. There is a group joiner at the landing point. You can check it out here *Visit SL House & Garden Centre*

Home Of The Week - Sevenstar Amat Shares Her Unique Home.

I am thrilled to bring you this week's feature on SL Home Lifestyle. The home belongs to an amazing designer and creator who I have been inspired by through both SL and through her real life art. It is a pleasure and honor that I was able to visit her sanctuary and capture these photos of a truly warm, inviting and inspirational home.

(Photo: Outside view of Sevenstar's home.)

Most people know Sevenstar Amat as the influential designer and artist behind "Stitch By Stitch". Her clothing is created with passion, love and imagination and her home is no different. The home is as individual and original as the owner. It is colorful, surprising and truly unique.

I found myself wanting to re-visit her home over and over to take photos, look at her beautiful collection of furniture and to quite rudely, make myself at home. It would be so easy to curl up in one of the wonderfully comfortable vintage chairs or sofas she has around her home, sip a cup of tea and lose yourself.

If you have any love of art or photography, you should check out Sevenstar's flickr stream here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sevenstar_amat/. She has a remarkable collection of her real life art work, her SL designs and of course, wonderful photos she has taken in world.

You can also check out Sevenstar's fantastic store "Stitch By Stitch" here. Not only will you find an expansive array of clothing, jewelry and hair, you will also find some of the cutest boho furniture and accessories for your SL home. *Taxi To Stitch By Stitch*

Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself?

I have been in SL 3 years now, and after being quite active and known here as a fashion designer, I´m taking a creative break right now, seeing SL only as fun and not as a business at the moment. Maybe I´ll build for SL again one day, but right now, I´m regaining the fun and the beauty that SL has , as I lost it on the way lately, being stressed out and involved in the more and more exaggerating SL fashion market. So you can say, I am pretty much private now.

(Photo: Some of the amazing little details in Sevenstar's home.)

In your own words describe what your home means to you?

It's a place to be myself, to relax and regenerate after hard work. It is reflecting my inner state I think, I change things a lot, so you can say it's in constant change. Also it's important to me that the sim surrounding is beautiful.

(Photo: Sevenstar's amazing living room. It is so colorful and inviting.)

How long have you lived at your home?

I am in this home since end of 2009. After a long odyssey through residential sims with really ugly neighbourhood, that was changing every week to worse, my partner and I decided to turn back to the Wunderbar Islands, where we have been in the very beginning. These sims will always stay what they are: beautiful nature, that's what the owners guarantee.

How long did it take you to achieve and be happy with the look of your home?

Oh, it was quite a work, its a constant process that never ends in fact. I start somewhere and ad matching pieces as soon as I find them. So its never finished I´m afraid :D

(Photo: Sevenstar's front doorway, which is always open for visitors.)

What did you use as influences when you were creating your home?

I use quite everything that crosses my way and inspires me. Sudden finds, pictures in a blog (like yours blogging for SCD inspires me a lot), my momentary moods...

(Photo: The view from the back porch)

What would you love to add to your home if you had the prim allowance?

It would be a little vintage Bakery with all kinds of cakes and breads, some tables to serve tea and coffee and an always smoking chimney

What is your favorite piece of decor in your home and why?

It's my little kitchen corner in the back of my house, because its cosy and I can imagine to hang out there in the arm chair, while the washing machine is running, and something is sizzling on the stove.

(Photo: The gorgeous kitchen area)

Where do you love to shop for your home?

Almost everywhere...like Poppet McGimsies stores, BP, Mudshake and all the other well or less known stores that cross my way.

(Photo: Sevenstar's bedroom, how comfy does the bed look.)

Thank you so much Sevenstar for sharing your home with us all. It is an amazing home filled with love, warmth and happiness. I don't think I have ever felt more at home in someone else's home.

Home Of The Week - Alexandra Messinez Shares Her Home.

I am thrilled to present the first home on SL Home LifeStyle. Alexandra Messinez kindly opened up her home for us all to have a look through. She has an amazing home and I am truly excited to share it all with you.

When I first arrived at Alexandra's home, I was blown away by how extraordinary her home was and how beautiful Alexandra was herself. Alexandra lives in an remarkable Steampunk themed home, and lives on a shared land parcel. I asked Alexandra what the best thing about her location was. "Ok, one of the best things about this place is, I know my neighbors....a few since my rezzday in SL" Even though Alexandra was one of the last ones to move onto the parcel you will see from the photos below she was lucky enough to get the best view.

I personally fell in love with her land. It was so green and beautiful but I decided to ask Alexandra why she loved living where she did. "The community feeling of this place and its green look. Its the opposite of the Mainland where you have to live between a mass of different schemes and prim trash."

Her actual home is only 50 prims, which was incredibly surprising to me. All up she uses 248 prims for her home and decorating. "I chose this house because it is small. The usual SL Hangar sized buildings are so cold and empty."

I would personally like to thank Alexandra for her patience with me and my forever crashing in on her personal space. Alexandra is an incredible person and I think her home reflects her perfectly.

(Photo: Alexandra's home from a distance.)

Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself?

I came to SL because I was bored playing MMORPGS which did not have much roleplay left. The slogan "Your World - Your Imagination" catched my attention.
Another point was, since I usually speak german, SL became a good English trainer.
Talking with people from all over the world in a world shaped by imagination made me stay.

(Photo: Alexandra on her front doorstep)

In your own words describe what your home means to you.

It is an expression of virtual safehouse. A place where you sit down, rest your feet on your table and watch a movie with friends, while you rest your feet on your desk in RL and watch a movie with some online friends.

(Photo: Alexandra on her balcony, showing me the amazing view.)

How long have you lived at your home?

Just a few weeks at this one.

How long did it take you to achieve and be happy with the look of your home?

This is a process which never ends. Its part of the fun in SL.

What did you use as influences when you were creating your home?

Music from Abney Park and some Jules Vernes Novels

(Photo: Alexandra In her gorgeous bedroom/bathroom.)

I have to add here that Alexandra had a black and white photograph of Karl Ranseier in a lovely frame in her bedroom, she proceeded to tell me about it. "It's a repeated joke from an old comedy show on german TV. Everytime they took this photo and said "Karl Ranseier is dead.... The worlds most unimportant [Showmaster, cook, what ever] has died today".

Karl Ranseier was a recurring character featured in a fake in a fake news report telling about his death at the end of each episode. The show was named RTL Samstag Nacht and it ran from 1993 to 1998. It really helped comedy in German television to a beaththrough and was a model for several comedy television shows to come.

What would you love to add to your home if you had the prim allowance?

More small details like books scattered around.

What is your favorite piece of decor in your home and why?

My movie projector. A great way to include a media player into a steampunk style.
And my fireplace from Nautilina. Its just the most cozy fire I have seen yet in SL.

(Photo: Alexandra's awesome movie projector in her living room.)

Where do you love to shop for your home?

Julia Collection had great furniture, Golden Oriole great decoration, as well as JDs Toy Factory.

A little about Alexandra's home.

Alexandra's home is from ~JD~ and is named Copperium. Pure Steampunk building with metal textures, copper color and material harmonies with mistycal, interesting senses. High quality sculpt parts makes the house so real, still keep the prim cound low! Special sculpt parts let the fences, stairs and doors be in 3D. Really nice glowing effects on the roof lights and lighting edges. The pictures made in SL, without shadow, Global Illumination, and any additional effect or "retouch" to hide something.
Features:

-30 x 23m footprint, 20x20m the round area (ca. 30m high)

-50 prim-5objects
-unique sculpts, highly detailed and LOD safe
-lockable door with configurable access list and sound effects
-scripted windows (owner only) with open and close states
-scripted and animated ladder (up/down states) leading to the roof-viewpoint area.
-only 3765 rendering cost points after the 2.0 viewer info... (a simple hair, or belt is usually 5000 points)

You can buy this home from here:
